Powerhouse Tools Holds First-Ever Business Summit in the Visayas

Powerhouse Tools held its first-ever Visayas Business Summit on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mandaue City, bringing together business partners, store owners, and key members of the Powerhouse Tools team for a day centered on business insights, growth opportunities, and stronger partnerships.

The summit provided a platform to share the company’s latest business developments, marketing initiatives, regional performance, and product strategies, while recognizing the achievements of partners who continue to contribute to Powerhouse Tools’ growth.

Building Opportunities in the Visayas

The program opened with remarks from Charles Sy, CEO of Hap Suy Hardware Co., Inc., who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the growing opportunities in the region.

Reflecting on Powerhouse Tools’ 80-year history in the Philippine hardware industry and its expanding nationwide presence, Sy emphasized the importance of strengthening the company’s partnership with businesses in the Visayas.

“We brought this summit directly to you because the data is clear: the Visayas is an economic powerhouse.”

Sy highlighted the increasing demand driven by developments across the region—from commercial and residential projects to logistics hubs and tourism developments—and emphasized Powerhouse Tools’ commitment to growing alongside its business partners.

He also shared the company’s ongoing investments in its foundation, including a new corporate headquarters, streamlined logistics, and expanded regional warehouse capacity, as Powerhouse Tools continues to strengthen its ability to serve customers and partners nationwide.

With over 150 stores across the country, the company remains focused on using its growing scale to create more opportunities for its partners and support long-term regional growth.

Cebu Landscape Update

Following the opening remarks, Kendrick Siy, Strategic Business Unit Director, provided an overview of Powerhouse Tools’ growing presence and opportunities in the Visayas.

As the Visayas continues to develop as an important economic and business hub, Powerhouse Tools remains committed to bringing its products, services, and business opportunities closer to customers and partners in the region.

Powering Through Marketing

Marketing Head Rochelle Jarlego then highlighted the initiatives that continue to strengthen Powerhouse Tools’ brand presence and customer engagement.

Among the key areas discussed was the company’s continued e-commerce expansion, including improvements to the features and usability of its website to provide customers with a more accessible and convenient online shopping experience.

The company is also strengthening its search engine optimization (SEO) efforts while developing more product-focused and trend-based content across its digital platforms.

Powerhouse Tools continues to expand its creator and influencer initiatives through collaborations with personalities such as Raffy’s Green and Kraig Briones, as well as local creators including the Bigotilyo Brothers and Barato Blog.

These initiatives complement the company’s growing media presence, with Powerhouse Tools gaining exposure through platforms and publications such as ANC Business Outlook, Chinoy TV, Manila Standard, Adobo Magazine, and It’s Showtime.

Beyond marketing, the company continues to build a community around the brand through partnerships with organizations and institutions such as TESDA, DOST-MIRDC, the Philippine Welding Society, and the College of St. Benilde.

Jarlego also highlighted Powerhouse Tools’ continued focus on product portfolio expansion, product launches, new product development, and product communication to address the evolving needs of customers and industry professionals.

Visayas Business Performance

Frila Kong, Sales Operations Head, also provided an overview of Powerhouse Tools’ performance in the Visayas, highlighting key business developments and opportunities for continued growth across the region.

The presentation emphasized the company’s strong regional presence and the potential to further expand its reach through closer collaboration with dealers, partners, and other business stakeholders across the Visayas.

Growing Together: The Journey from One to Five

A key highlight of the summit was “Growing Together: The Journey from One to Five,” presented by Lester Yee, CPA, owner of Esprutingkle Group.

Yee shared his journey as a Powerhouse business partner, from operating his first store to growing the group into a network of five Powerhouse locations: Powerhouse Culasi, Powerhouse San Jose, Powerhouse Ipil Zamboanga, Powerhouse Basilan, and Powerhouse Koronadal.

Yee shared his experience as a Powerhouse Tools franchise partner, highlighting the role of market expertise and an established business model in building and growing a business.

As the franchisor, Hap Suy Hardware Co., Inc. provides partners with market knowledge, business insights, and an established brand to support them throughout their business journey. These provide entrepreneurs with a solid foundation as they navigate the industry and explore opportunities for expansion.

He concluded his presentation with “Why Powerhouse?”, bringing the discussion back to the value of partnership, brand strength, and the support behind the Powerhouse Tools franchise.
